ABOUT THE MASSAGE
I am an intuitive and skilled body worker who has been studying and giving bodywork since 1979, professionally off and on since 2003.
I receive a lot of bodywork (as everyone should), and every modality I encounter informs my practice. I try to integrate all the good stuff into my own personal style. You'll recognize elements of Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology, Body Electric, and Lomi Lomi for sure, and I couldn't begin tell you what all else has snuck in over the years. I work happily with men of all ages, races, and body types and am fully FTM-approved and certified.
I work on a table, using both oils and creams (let me know if you have a preference). I believe in full body massage as an essential element of holistic healing and health maintenance. Almost of necessity, on some level all massage is therapeutic, sensual, and erotic. It can be soothing or adventurous or both. During our time together, you decide where you want to receive touch and where you don't, and you choose the degree to which you stay clothed/draped or not -- just choose whatever will allow you to feel most fully present and blessed in your body. I keep my shirt and shorts on throughout our session as part of my commitment to be present with and for you at every moment.
One additional incentive: I have the best shower in San Francisco (just sayin'), and you are invited to use it before and/or after (maybe during!) the session. I ask only that you arrive at the table recently showered, whether at your place or mine. If you want any kind of internal touch (prostate massage, for example), please do a light cleansing before you arrive.
I do bodywork in my home on the top floor of a shared house in the Inner Sunset. Because the room doubles as my academic and professional study, I pretty much guarantee some books will be lying about. Of course, the linens are always clean. The room will be warm, but blankets are available, if you feel chilly, and the table can also accommodate a heating pad. If using a blindfold and/or earplugs will help you let go of the tensions in your life and to relax, I have those on hand, also. My druthers are to play classical music when we work together. Feel free, though, to bring a disc or two of any music you want to hear. Alternatively, ask for no music at all.
Until I get to know you well, I will solicit your feedback often during the session. We can converse or maintain quiet otherwise, whatever ensures you the best experience possible. The session begins and concludes with a moment of blessing for your physical self and your life, and I'm pretty confident you'll feel the joy in both body and spirit.
Calls accepted between 9am and 9pm only. Initial calls can be made with a blocked caller ID, but eventually I will need a callback number from you to confirm our appointment time. I do take occasional late night appointments, but after 9pm, please text me (as opposed to calling) as a first mode of contact.

Useful information
Travel rates (meaning anytime outside of San Francisco): I need to add $20 to my usual in-call rates. Out-calls while traveling need to take any additional transportation expenses into account.
In response to a number of inquiries (and this is true for any bodyworker you ever see): If a session goes, with your permission, over time, or is especially meaningful to you, yes, it is fully appropriate to offer a gratuity. However, you're only responsible for paying for the length of time we agree on before the session begins.

03/25/12 David was visiting in San Diego so didn't have his table along, so he was very accommodating by coming to my house. We had to use a bed, but once he started working on me he kept going until all of my aches and pains were gone. He definitely likes feedback during the work and he seemed to really get into finding all those tight places that needed an extra touch; even the balls of my feet and toes were feeling better when he finished. He ran over to get all of me worked over. I would love to feel his hands again.

03/08/12 I am quite selective about who I go to for bodywork. (I used to be a CMT and will admit to being a bit of a massage snob.) David's technique is excellent, he is extremely intuitive and great at finding all of the knots and places that need extra attention. I felt totally comfortable with David, which is important to me as a transman. Like many FTMs, I have large scars and numb areas on my chest, he did great chest work on me, which can be very difficult for me to get from most massage practitioners. Additionally, I was just getting over a migraine when I went to David, his work on my neck and back was amazingly helpful. I cannot say enough about how great this massage was! I felt renewed and refreshed in my body and spirit.

02/18/12 David is an absolutely amazing masseur. There is so much I could say about him; it's hard to encapsulate a review here. However, from the first call with him to when his hands began their work on me, I could feel a connection with him. It was fortunate for me that David was traveling to my city, and I was able to book my first session with him. At the time, I was seeking a session that was both therapeutic and sensual. What I received was a holistic massage that left me feeling completely connected (body, soul, spirit). I can't recall having a session that left me feeling as blessed as I felt when I left David. His spirit is open and freely giving. My session was amazing, and all the elements I needed were there. He's so very attractive, with a wonderful voice that can put anyone at ease, no matter how stressed they may feel. After my first session, I noticed David was returning to my city 10 days later, and I jumped at the chance to meet with him again. The feelings of being centered, calm, and connected have not left me and I can only dream of the day when I'll have another session with David. That day will come soon, as David's work is worth traveling for. You can get bodywork from anyone (clearly with so many options on this site), but it is very few men that will cause you to crave another session several weeks after. David is just that exceptional.

12/26/11 I only need two words to review this masseur: "Yes please!" David delivered everything his ad promised and was professional from start to finish. I appreciated his direct and honest communication style, both over the phone and in person. As someone who has paid for more than a few massages before, I can honestly say that my experience with David was not only sensual and therapeutic, but also relaxing and joyful. Never once did I feel any pressure or judgement about my body, my desires, or my decision to seek his services. 12/20/11 I called David after suffering some spasms in my upper back. He scheduled me within 24 hours, as I recall. Parking is easy in his neighborhood, but he's also just a couple blocks from the N-Judah train. It's true, he has the best shower in San Francisco, which I used before and after the massage. Everything about the massage was sensitive and thoughtful, I never had an impression he was "phoning it in" - which I've experienced several times with other masseurs, very annoying in such an intimate experience. I enjoyed the classical music (all French composers that day) as a welcome relief from shapeless new age soundscapes other masseurs use; it gave me something to focus on rather than tune out. I believe him when he says whatever music the client wants is fine, he asked before putting it on. Since this was a pain-relief massage, I wanted to know how to keep this from happening again. Because I was interested, David told me what he was doing and how it related to my upper back problems. When there was nothing to say, he was silent, not gabby. He also gave me very good tips, as I was dressing, on what to do over the next 24 hours to make the most of the massage and accelerate healing. It all worked. David also suggested a frequency for follow-up massages, as well as offering referrals to practitioners of other therapies. It was clear that my comfort was most important, there was no pressure to give him more business. I will definitely start budgeting massage into my life, it's much better as a preventative than as a pain-management treatment. I completely trust David with my body.
