ABOUT THE MASSAGE
My approach to massage and the experience I offer, is one that is constantly changing. At this point, I have learned many techniques. Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Myofascial Release, Neuromusculular. I think it is important to have a good base of knowing anatomy and how the body should be treated. More and more recently, my focus on massage has shifted. Where as before, there was a sense of striving to be a good massage therapist, and learn more and more, and keep improving. Now, my approach, is that everyone is great just the way that they are, myself included. So my practice now is geared towards people connecting with their inherent nature. More revealing what is there, then adding anything, and allowing things to be as they are, rather than have a sense of project about things. There are themes that will always be a part of my work. Integration, balance and feeling good is what I intend to bring about through my work. Luckily, people and the human body are incredibly amazing entities, when we can connect with that, life starts working with us. The human body heals itself most of the time, sometimes we just get in our own way, and massage can be a good starting point of shedding what is no longer needed.

05/02/10 (re-write my review, since i mis-word my original comment) this is my second massage session with jeremiah merkel. if you could see my comment about him from a year ago dated 5/9/09 below. i still keep in touch with him because i travel miami beach twice a year. the session was not ONLY amazing but he was super cool and friendly guy. we chatted afterward for while in general and was very pleased with that. i highly recommend to anyone who lives or travels to miami, shall set up an appointment with jeremiah merkel for a massage session.

03/06/10 This was my first appointment with Jeremiah. I had attempted to set up appointments in the past but our timing was always off. I am really glad that I was persistent as it was well worth the wait. Jeremiah has a nice studio set up in his apartment. The temperature was perfect, and the table comfortable. Jeremiah made me feel comfortable and inquired about any areas of concern. He is as handsome in person as in his photographs. Jeremiah's touch was one of the best I've ever experienced. He connected through is touch in a way that is hard to explain. His pressure is not deep, and I might ask for a little deeper pressure on my next visit, however I cannot complain because he truly seemed to connect through his technique. He works every area and senses areas of concern as he actually breathes with you. I would recommend Jeremiah without question, and am already looking forward to my next appointment.

02/21/10 Jeremiah is a polite, likeable and very physically-fit guy. He is thorough - he hits every muscle - I mean all of them. He also uses his upper body strength and applies deep - just the right amount - pressure to work out the knots and kinks. He started on my lower back and upper butt and worked the muscles to perfection. The leg massage was very thorough, especially when he spent time on my upper and inner thighs which I needed because i am a marathon runner and always in training. Can't get any better. His dedicated massage room is peaceful and serene. His compact muscled body is perfect, especially as he climbs up on top of the massage table to work your back. I have never had a massage therapist this nimble but damn it's effective! He moves from body part to body part with such smooth transitions. He stretches you as well as massages you, putting you into a state of total relaxation. His attentive hands were on me for the full 90 minutes which flew by. I was not disappointed. Jeremiah is a master at his art, an extraordinary value and a charming man to boot. I am so very pleased with Jeremiah's bodywork service, I felt and needed to let others know. I would like to share my experience with people who have some interests in having the best of the BEST massage in town. No doubt, Jeremiah is an awesome, skilled, experienced & friendly massage pratitioner and without a question, he is so talented, gifted & trustworhty. If you are looking for the best massage you can get, have a session experience with Jeremiah, and you will be your own judge. The most incredible asset Jeremiah possesses is his intuitive touch. I loved every minute of it and so will you. He is a free spirit and I am so happy I found him.

05/17/09 Best massage of my life! Jeremiah could sense which parts of my body needed more of a deep and hard massage versus other parts of my body which needed a light massage. He talks to you to help you with breathing and that helps to make the experience even more enjoyable. His location is great, very warm and friendly. Jeremiah has a great personality and made me well welcomed from the second he opened the door. I wish I lived closer, I'd be a regular customer. I can't say thank you enough to Jeremiah, I left so relaxed.

- I started receiving massage as a college tennis player. It was so helpful to me, I decided I had to learn more. I went to massage school in baltimore, and have been practicing ever since. I started working in DC after I was licensed and worked for a busy day spa before I ventured out on my own. DC was a great market, but it was time for a change, and I also wanted to work more on my tennis game and eventually start working more with tennis players. So I decided to move to miami. Miami is great, and Im getting ready to start a full time athletic training program, to learn more about injuries. I still plan to keep practicing massage through school.
